Many people like playing guitar, but only a few know how to play it, meaning that just a few of them end up mastering it. What I mean is that many stop practicing new things after learning a thing or two because they never found a good guitar guide, and do not see how it can become an endless music journey. To start playing the way professionals do it is important, to have a fresh perspective to realize what you are doing correctly and in what areas you could make an improvement. The truth is that there is always an alternative that can be done when we get to a moment where we see that there is a big rock blocking you when playing guitar as a learner. You have learned how to play guitar, and you have been doing it for some time now, maybe a year or less, or even perhaps for a couple of years, and you feel that you have gotten into that moment that I was mentioning in the previous paragraph, what can you do? What you need to consider is that it is normal to feel like that, and as I mentioned before, there are ways to start practicing guitar that will help you and I want to give you a few tips you can do to get a fresh start. 1. Stop playing guitar for a while. Take a breath, just relax and consider it for a minute, if you stop playing guitar for let's say a week or so when you start playing again you are going to have this feeling to start playing again, and that's good, it will be as if you recharging batteries. 2. Listen to a different type of music. Let's say that one is into punk music, then try listening to some country, blues or some jazz musicians and when you listen to a song that you like, then try to play it, reading tablature or if you have learned music theory, look for the music sheet for that song particularly. 3. Search for new skills to learn on your guitar. Now that you are listening to different types of music, then try to learn a couple of skills of blues and jazz, and this will be good for you to get your fingers set loose, and you will get a different to start making up awesome solos on your guitar. 4. Have your Metronome ready. Now that you are trying more scales on your guitar use the metronome to play them and start putting some speed on your fingers. 5. Look for inspiration. Start looking around for DVDs of your favorite guitar players; the feeling one gets from watching them on stage is the fuel you need to start working on your guitar skills immediately. These are just a couple of ideas that you can start using to take your guitar playing to a new level. Take a cup of coffee, think about what you want and go for it, do you want to be like many people out there that only learn how to play a couple of your favorite songs or do you want to explore your full potential? Think about it and go for it.
